In this third installment of Spiraken Movie Review's Month of Megahackers, Megatechnology, and Megalomaniac Megacorporations, Anime 3000's very own Sean Russell joins Xan to review the quintessential cyberpunk movie from 1982 and based on Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Blade Runner directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos, Brion James, Joe Turkel, M. Emmet Walsh, Daryl Hannah, William Sanderson and a cameo by James Hong
Due to a poor internet connection, the sound quality of this episode is not as good as I would have liked, but it sounds pretty good overall, so my apologizes. As for the episode itself, there are lots of tangents in this episode: Reasons why Roy Batty Is The Real Protagonist of this movie, Why The replicants were just misunderstood, How Berserk and Bubblegum Crisis can be connected with Blade Runner, The Debate about if Deckard Is Either a) A Replicant, B) A Dick or C) A Flawed Human Being, what kind of future we will have in 2019, Why Did They Decommission the Dick Clark Bot in favor for the Ryan Seacrest 10,000, How we are slaves to society, and eventually ends up at an existential conversation. So hope we are not too high brow in this episode.
